In the summer of 2020, Meilan Airport actively coordinated various airlines to increase the number of flights from Haikou to Guangzhou, Shanghai, Changsha, Chongqing and Harbin by more than 2,000 flights. In July, the number of flights and passenger traffic increased by 21.2% and 36.9, respectively, while the monthly growth in August and July increased by 20.5% and 20.3%, respectively.

According to statistics, in 2020, in terms of passenger turnover, Meilan Airport took 16th place among tens of millions of airports in the country, having increased by 3 places compared to the same period last year; the domestic aviation market achieved full positive growth for three consecutive months. In 2021, Meilan Airport will serve a total of 280 routes, including 251 domestic routes and 144 cities, including 116 inland cities. New shipping routes include Bazhong, Wushan, Sanmin, Yulin, Yibin, Nanchong, Hechi, etc. Urban flights continue to increase the availability of Tier 3 and Tier 4 small and medium cities, and domestic route coverage continues to expand. The number of flights to Beijing has been increased to 23 flights per day, while the number of flights to Guangzhou and Zhengzhou can reach approximately 17 flights per day to Shanghai, Shenzhen and Chongqing, Changsha, Xi'an, Harbin, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Shenyang and other popular cities. 10 flights a day.
