According to Sterling Nesbitt, dinosaur bones of Nyasasaurus parringtoni were unexpectedly discovered in the process of studying the collection of fossils in the National History Museum in London, where the attention of scientists was attracted by six vertebrae of reptile, that were found in the sediments of the Middle Triassic in Tanzania in 1934 by famous British paleontologist.
