Jakarta - capital of Indonesia

The capital of Indonesia, Jakarta hot and stuffy - the typical South Asian metropolis. Noisy and overpopulated to the limit, it consists of elegant glass skyscrapers, towering among the terrible slums. On the roads, traffic jams are known around the world, sparkling Lexus'y stand side by side with the poor fat-the fat.
National Monument

An important symbol of Jakarta - the highest tower of the country (130 meters) located on it a viewing platform. Stele set in the heart of the city and its inhabitants reminds of the years of struggle for independence. Tower located on the square Merdeka, which translated to Indonesian means "independence." If you look at the stele, it is virtually the same as the world famous Washington Monument.

The observation deck is located on the top of the tower (115 meters) and climb it is possible by means of the elevator. The underground part of the monument is also not empty. There is a museum dedicated to the history of Indonesia.
National Museum

He is the principal museum of Indonesia, and the exhibition - one of the busiest in the whole south-east Asia. Here you can see all the historical, archaeological and cultural finds. Before you brought national costumes, art objects and utensils of all the peoples of this country. Halls decorated idols and reliefs found in Javanese temples, ritual masks of Bali, a unique collection of Chinese Han Dynasty porcelain and jewelry that belonged to the former rulers of the country.

Near the entrance to the museum, you can see the statue of the elephant, cast in bronze. It was donated in 1871 by the King of Thailand, so the second name of the museum - "House with an elephant."
Little Indonesia

The country's territory stretches for more than fifteen hundred islands. Visit one can not afford any tourist. But here's the park Taman Mini - a great opportunity to look, if not all, then most. Children walk will bring a lot of fun especially, becoming a mini tour.

These parks are offering their country in miniature, are very popular. Something similar is in Thailand and Malaysia. Hundreds of hectares of "Little Indonesia" placed all the provinces of the country. In addition, the Indonesians are constantly carrying out the park costume show.
Cathedral

The largest Catholic cathedral, inherited Muslim Jakarta from the reign of the Netherlands. Lace gothic looks strange amid the hustle and bustle of city, but with all of this continues to take the Cathedral parishioners. And if you wish you can listen to organ music. Concerts are held punctually.

Indonesia to abolish visas for Russia in April

The Indonesian Government refuses visa requirements for 30 countries, including Russia, in the next month, said on Tuesday the Jakarta Post.

List of countries for which the visa-free regime introduced initially included China, South Korea, Japan and Russia, but was later increased to 30 states. They included Canada, Mexico and the United States, several European countries, as well as Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the UAE. When this has been excluded from the list of Australia, for which also originally intended to abolish visas.

According to the forecast of the Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia, the revision of the visa-free list will attract at least 1 million more foreign tourists to the country, which, in turn, will bring additional foreign exchange earnings of $ 1.2 billion.

Now the Indonesian visa is not required for travelers from nine ASEAN member countries, as well as citizens of Chile, Ecuador, Hong Kong, Macao, Morocco and Peru. Tourists from other countries are required to pay $ 35 per month visa visa.

Last year, Indonesia visited 9.4 million foreign tourists, compared to the previous year their number has increased by 7.19%. This year, the authorities hope to attract about 10 million foreign tourists and to receive more than $ 11 billion in profits, according to the publication.

Indonesia is not among the areas most popular among Russians. According to statistics from the Federal Tourism Agency, the number of tourists from our country to Indonesia at the end of 2014 fell by 64% compared with the previous year.
