Russia will soon have its own missile defense system

RIA "Novosti" reported that the Russian analogue of the THAAD missile can intercept ballistic missiles and medium-range, though on a limited scale, the warhead intercontinental ballistic missiles.
According to Paul Sozinova, in the near term will begin testing the new system.
Recall that the THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system) - a system of missile defense, shoot down missiles and medium-range at a few minutes before hitting the target.
Another novelty - similar to the American system of GMD (Ground-based Midcourse Defense - a system designed to intercept intercontinental ballistic missiles) have conducted a series of tests. Also in the Russian equivalent of the American missile designed to intercept the GBI, which is a component part of a complex GMD.
The Russian system has somewhat different characteristics than the US and is made on the basis of a highly mobile chassis. All this is due to the requirements of the Defense Ministry, which need a more efficient complex than that which a US.
