Russia recognized the independence of Southern Sudan

Today, a special presidential representative for cooperation with African countries Margelov conveyed to the President of Southern Sudan the declaration from the President of the Russian Federation about recognition of the independence of Southern Sudan. The declaration contains the Presidential greetings and hope, that the partnership between Russia and Southern Sudan will be an important factor of stability in Africa. According to the President of the Russian Federation, the Russian business community is now showing serious interest in the joint work with partners in Southern Sudan, particularly in the development and production of minerals, energy and agriculture. About recognition of the Southern Sudan had already reported the United States, China and several European countries.
