A group of scientists from Tel Aviv University has shown on the public a series of experiments with superconductors in a magnetic field, which demonstrated the potential of so-called quantum levitation. Quantum levitation is based on the Meissner effect, and a soaring of the superconductor in a magnetic field. Scientists were able to demonstrate the most unusual tricks, related to quantum levitation, using superconductors with different thickness and a combination of several different magnetic fields intensity and focus, that has caused excitement among the public. However, the practical use of quantum levitation is not for entertainment purposes is still very difficult, because not yet been developed to room temperature superconductors, and must use only those materials that exhibit superconducting properties only when cooling them to very low temperatures, using liquid nitrogen.

Scientists at the Argonne National Laboratory in the Department of Energy reported, that they had found a way to mix fluid without placing them in a containers. Argonne scientist's way based on the so-called effect of acoustic levitation, which was obtained with the help of two powerful sources of ultrasonic, which special way directed towards each other. With this distribution of sound waves form a "wave glass" in which scientists can put any small amount of liquid, which, levitating motionless in air. Acoustic Levitation technology was needed to evaporate the chemical solutions in the process of obtaining of drugs without the use of any of containers as any containers wall are the centers of crystallization of chemicals, and crystallization is highly undesirable phenomenon in the process of obtaining a some drugs.
