Comet crashed into the Sun - are possible the magnetic storms

Representatives of NASA released images from May 10-11, 2011, which is seen as a giant comet crashes into the Sun (see а photos). With the SOHO spacecraft was capture in detail the entire process of collision comets with the Sun. Orbiting observatory SOHO (Solar and Heliospheric Observatory) is used to Observing the Sun and the study of processes occurring on Sun, using this space apparatus was opened around 1500 original solar comets. As said the representative of NASA - this comet was opened well-known amateur astronomer from Belarus Sergey Shurpakov. This comet is a fragment of superkomet, divided into small pieces about 2000 years ago. Astronomers suspect the comet was part of the so-called Kreutz family of comets. Kreutz comets are comets in orbits that approach within a few hundred thousand miles of the Sun. They are named after 19th century astronomer Heinrich Kreutz, who first demonstrated that such comets were related. On our planet in the coming days may fall severe magnetic storms, despite the fact, that the collision occurred a week ago, the main emission of charged particles was not directed toward Earth, but due to the fact, that the Sun now is in the active phase of the 11-year Solar cycle, in the coming days possible new solar eruption.

Comet Elenin throws out the hydrocyanic acid in space

Michal Drahus from the group of scientists, studying the comet C/2010 X1 Elenin on the James Clark Maxwell Telescope (JCMT), located in Hawaii, according to the results of the last observation, reported, that the comet C / 2010 X1 Elenin throws out in space an almost 673 grams of hydrocyanic acid per second. Hydrocyanic acid is known primarily as the strongest poison, which is even supposed to use in the production of chemical weapons. Comet C/2010 X1 Elenin was opened in December 2010 by Russian astronomer Leonid Elenin. But it is very unlikely, that the hydrocyanic acid from comet C/2010 X1 Elenin will make any impact on the population of the Earth, the comet will approach to Earth not less, than 35 million km.

A group of scientists from NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory has put forward the hypothesis, that the Universe is full of the terrestrial planets, on which surface located oceans and seas of plain water, so they can be generated life, like Earth's. This hypothesis was proposed based on analysis of images of space observatory "Herschel" - was established stars, around which there are clouds of rarefied water vapor, for example, around the star TW Hydrae, located in the constellation Hydra at a distance of 175 light years from Earth, located a clouds of rarefied water vapor. Scientists believe, that comets may carry the water on the planets, collecting it for a long period of time from the clouds of rarefied water vapor. More recently, it was found, that the isotopic composition of water in comets in the solar system is similar to the isotopic composition of water in the oceans on Earth, and therefore very likely, that the comet brought most of the water on Earth.

According to Hector Manterola (from the Institute of Geophysics, Mexico, life on Earth could disappear 128 years ago, then the Earth could collide with the fragments of comets, shortly before the collapsed near the Earth. Hector Manterola studied pictures of several hundred obscure objects that flew against the Sun in August 1883 and were photographed by astronomer Jose Bonilla in August 12 and August 13, 1883 at the Observatory of Zacatecas. The pictures were visible objects of irregular shape, surrounded by a haze, like a volatile part of the comet. According to Hector Manterola, in 1983 the Jose Bonilla watched parts of the comet, that broke up a few million kilometers from Earth. According to current estimates, the size of individual fragments was up to one kilometer and the amount is not less than 500, so a collision with the Earth, these pieces could cause tremendous damage.

Comet Lovejoy will be the brightest object in the Earth's sky

According to Stanislav Korotkiy, the representative of Russian astronomical observatory "Ka-Dar", located in the Moscow region, Russia,- on the night of December 16, 2011, the brightness of the recently discovered comet Lovejoy has reached its maximum and it will become the brightest object in Earth's night sky, as at that time the comet Lovejoy fly at very close distance from the Sun, almost touching its surface. Comet Lovejoy C/2011 W3 was opened by an amateur astronomer Terry Lovejoy from Australia on November 27, 2011. Comet Lovejoy is part of the Creutz comets, which are characterized by the fact, that this comets pass very close to the Sun. According to astronomers, the comet Lovejoy is the largest comet, which were discovered in the past few years, so it is possible, that the comet C/2011 W3 can break even at the approach to the Sun, but if the comet will survive, it will become the brightest object in Earth's sky.

Russian astronomer Artyom Novichonok and astronomer from Belarus VItaly Nevsky reported about the discovery of a new comet, which may become the brightest comet in this decade. New comet of Novichonok-Nevsky was named C/2012 S1 (ISON), so it was opened at September 21, 2012 at the observatory ISON-Kislovodsk by the International Scientific Optical Network tools (ISON), which are located near Kislovodsk. Cometary nature of this object has already been confirmed in large telescopes, including telescope of Maidanak Observatory. During the refinement of the orbit of comet C/2012 S1 (ISON), was found aprediscovery, as it turned out, this comet were observed at December 28, 2011 and January 28, 2012 at the observatories of Mt. Lemmon and Pan-STARSS. But at present total arc of observations increased many times and now we can say with certainty about the orbit of the new comet. Perihelion, the closest point to the Sun, of the comet C/2012 S1 (ISON) will be in late of November 2013, approximately 0.1 AU, so if the comet C/2012 S1 (ISON) will not destroyed on the approach to the Sun, the Earth's inhabitants will be able to observe the brightest comet in decade, which will be brighter, then comet of C/2011 L4 (PAN-STARRS).
