As reported the press service of the Lebedev Physical Institute of RAS (FIAN), the Professor Mikhail Medvedev suggested that the dark matter consists of particles with variable mass, the state which, in contrast to the particles of ordinary matter can not be described by the wave function. It is known, that in quantum mechanics states that can not be described by a wave function is called mixed state and describe them in a more sophisticated approach, using the concept of the density matrix. The states of the quantum systems, which described by the wave function is called clear states. When we're talking about the density matrix for particles of dark matter, the question immediately arises: what kind of density we talking about? According to Professor Mikhail Medvedev - here we have in mind probability the density function of different states of dark matter particles. It is assumed, that the concrete state of the dark matter is unknown, and we can known only to the probability, that a system of particles of dark matter in a particular state of a set of admissible. The system of dark matter particles then treated like liquid in a phase space. In this case, the mass of dark matter particles in an arbitrary volume of the phase space is equal to the total probability that a system of particles of dark matter resides in any of the states corresponding to the points of this volume.
