The number of passengers travelling through Dubai International Airport (DXB) is increasing each year and is now in excess of 32 million. Dubai Airport is sited around 5 km / 3 miles south-east of the city and is one of the premier airports in the United Arab Emirates and throughout the Middle East, boasting a multitude of facilities and services for visitors. Two terminal buildings handle most of the traffic arriving and departing at Dubai Airport and are connected by repeated shuttles. Those wishing to have the convenience of their own transportation can arrange to hire a car from one of several major car rental agencies represented at the airport. Nearby, the port town of Mina Jabal Ali and the wealthy city of Abu Dhabi is connected to Dubai Airport by the D-11.

Terminal 2 serves cargo and charter flights and commercial flights from Iran and the CIS. Bus stations are located near all three terminals. City bus number number 4, 11, 15, 33, 44 stop near the terminal 1 and terminal 3. Bus number 2 stops at Terminal 2. All buses are air conditioned.

Red line subway passes through the terminals 1 and 3. Hours: from 6.00 to 22.15 every day except Friday: 14.05-23.15. During the Ramadan fasting time may vary.

Travel time between terminals 1 and 2 is about 20 minutes, moving between terminals 1 and 3 takes about 30 minutes.

The world's tallest sculpture made of chocolate was set on Sunday at Dubai International Airport - its height is 13.5 meters.
