Train Guangzhou-Hong Kong with free Wi-Fi service for the first time in China
Pelham Guangzhou-Hong Kong now have free access to the Internet.
Train №T809, departing from the city of Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, was equipped with the service Wi-Fi, thus allowing passengers to use the Internet to buy tickets, chat and work online, said San Changsong, general manager of the corporation Railway Group Cultural Advertising Corporation.
Other 23 trains between Guangzhou and Hong Kong will soon have the same service but with a probation period of three months.
San Changsong also noted that passengers often can not make a phone call, send a message or use the internet because of the very weak mobile communication on high-speed trains. So, start Wi-Fi service in railway transport - it is a necessity in an era of smartphones.
The equipment for this service, designed by the corporation in cooperation FeiTian-Tech Corporation and the University of Southwest Jiaotong, provides Wi-Fi service about 1,000 passengers at a time, although it is not known whether this service all as free after its official launch.
