A team of scientists from Germany developed a rubber that is able to repair itself after a while. The material can be used in the manufacture of tires for cars. Thanks to new technology the researchers were able to abandon the vulcanization - a process that previously was considered necessary for the manufacture of tires. The new material has a good wear resistance. During vulcanization added special vulcanizing agents such as sulfur. It gives the rubber durability without compromising its elastic properties. However, if any sharp object punctures the tire, it can not be a patch to close up for long-term use. The new material, created by German specialists, is able to regenerate itself at room temperature. This will tire easily "heal" a puncture, for example, in the parking lot. After 8 days of tires capable of withstanding 754 psi. inch (53 kg per sq. cm). Heating to 100 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes accelerates recovery. According to the researchers, the material strength can be further increased by adding reinforcing components such as silicon or carbon black.
