Ice Age may come in the world by 2030 - VIDEO PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 20 July 2015 00:00

Monitoring the cyclical solar activity has allowed scientists to conclude that by 2030 the world may come a cold snap, which is called "mini-ice period." As noted, the last time such a temperature decrease was observed in 1645. Then froze the water in the river Thames. This phenomenon has been called the Maunder minimum. The period lasted until 1715.

Professor Valentina Zharkova presented during the meeting in the Welsh town of Llandudno results of his research. She explained that the solar cycle can enter into resonance, and enhance the activity of light, or vice versa to be in antiphase and reduce the activity of the Sun to a minimum.

The researcher says that between 2030 and 2040 will come the 26th solar cycle, which will bring with it unprecedented in the last 300 years frosts.

"In the 26th solar cycle, there are two waves that mirror each other. Each of them is in its peak, but in opposite hemispheres of the Sun. Their interaction will be devastating. Neutralize each other, they will drive the solar activity to zero. We believe that this will lead to a new Maunder minimum, "- said Zharkov. She added that her "calculations have 97% accuracy."

At the same time in December 2013 in the journal Nature Geoscience published the research of scientists at Edinburgh University, according to which the activity of the Sun is not the key cause of climate change on our planet, so while the lower boundary of the solar cycle should not expect extremely low temperatures on Earth.
