Enormous explosion occurred in the center of our Milky Way Galaxy - VIDEO PDF Print E-mail

Astronomers have observed a large X-ray flares from the supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way galaxy. This event is detected by the NASA space observatory 'Chandra', raises questions about the behavior of the giant black hole and its environment.
Supermassive black hole at the center of our galaxy, called Sagittarius A *, or Sgr A *, it is estimated that about 4.5 million. Times the mass of our Sun. Astronomers have made an unexpected discovery, using Chandra to observe as Sgr A * will respond to a neighboring gas cloud known as G2.

"Unfortunately, the gas cloud G2 creates fireworks as we had hoped, being close to Sgr A *," said lead researcher Daryl Haggard (Daryl Haggard) from Amherst College in Massachusetts. "However, the nature often surprises us, and we saw something else that was very interesting."

September 14, 2013, Haggard and her team discovered the X-ray flares from Sgr A * is 400 times brighter than a normal, calm state. This "megavspyshka" was almost three times brighter than previous X-ray bright flash at the beginning of 2012. After Sgr A * has calmed down, Chandra watched another huge outbreak of 20 October 2014, which was 200 times brighter than normal.

Researchers have two main theories about what caused the Sgr A * to erupt in such an extreme way. The first suggests that the asteroid came too close to a supermassive black hole and was torn apart by the force of gravity. Remains of such tidal disruption were very hot and produced X-rays before disappearing forever abroad black hole of no return, or in the event horizon.

If this theory is correct, it means that astronomers may have found evidence of a large asteroid that created the observed X-ray flare after pick apart Sagittarius A *.

The second assumption is that the magnetic field lines inside the gas flowing in the direction of Sgr A *, can be tightly packed and tangled. These power lines are sometimes re-adjust itself and produce a bright burst of X-rays. These types of magnetic flares seen on the Sun, and flash Sagittarius A * models have similar intensity.
