The world's first three-dimensional nano-printer created in South Korea - VIDEO PDF Print E-mail

Experts from the Korea Research Institute of electrotechnology (Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute (KERI) reported the development of the world's first three-dimensional printing technology, which can ensure the production of graphene nano-elements and a variety of other materials. This technology is implemented on an industrial scale, can produce a revolution in the production of miniature electronics, all kinds of flexible and thin portable devices.

"Our technology allows to produce a three-dimensional nanoimprint three-dimensional objects made of different materials, including metals, plastics and even graphs. And this is its main difference from other existing similar technologies, which in most cases can only work with the plastic" - says Seoul Seung- Kwon (Seol Seung-kwon), a leading researcher at the Centre for Research on hybrid nanotechnology (Nano Hybrid Technology Research Center) Institute KERI.

"The new technology can be adapted for use in many different areas of industrial production" - says Seung-Kwon - "But the main field of application will be, of course, the area of production of portable electronics and nanoelectronics, which until recently was in need of a core process in whose role can perform three-dimensional printing technology. "

Designed and manufactured by Korean researchers prototype three-dimensional nanoprintera able to very accurately control the movement of its microscopic extruder. During the printing process of the printer is controlled by means of a video system with high resolution, whereby the printer is able to produce objects with nanometer accuracy. Use of material as plastic printing, glass, graphite, and metals having high electrical conductivity, allows to manufacture using such technology not only the individual elements and components, but also electronic device completely.

Currently, researchers from the Institute of KERI has already filed a patent application, which is in the final stage of obtaining a patent certificate. This explains the presence of rather meager amount of information about the technology, the principles of its work and about to use other technologies. It is likely that after obtaining a patent Korean researchers will publish more details about his invention, and then we will get to know this from our readers.

From the words of the researchers, in order to bring them developed technology to the industrial level, it will take another two or three years, after which it will search partner organizations, which should focus on the practical implementation of the three-dimensional nanoimprint technology.
