The main part of the device - the camera for electrolysis, which operates in parallel with the sealing mechanism, oxygen sensor and a pressure relief valve. The device is able to extract water from the Martian soil using electrolysis - a method of using direct electrocution to control chemical reactions. "Elena" will also contain a "time capsule" in the form of radiation-hardened DVD, filled with messages and drawings.

It is assumed that the device will lead to the reliable technology for a constant supply of colonizers who arrive on the Red Planet in the project Mars One in 2025, with oxygen.
