Darkest material in the world Vantablack created in the UK - VIDEO PDF Print E-mail

British company Surrey NanoSystems has developed the black material known to human. This substance absorbs almost all incident light, reflecting only slight 0.035%, which makes it very unusual for the perception of the human eye. Absence, from a practical standpoint, the reflected light causes that the human eye can not see the twists and form of the object, and differ only in its path. If someone is trying to wear clothes made of similar material it would look like a two-dimensional, as if the photograph contour cut on clothes and put it on a black background. The new material has already received the name Vantablack or "super black." It consists of a very thin nanotubes grown on an aluminum substrate with a thickness of 10 thoUSAnd times thinner than a human hair. Even light can not penetrate through the tube so thin, but it passes through the pores around these tubes, where the material and being reflected inside until almost completely absorbed. Another feature of the material is its high thermal conductivity, in excess of seven times the thermal conductivity of copper. Vantablack will be used in science to calibrate telescopes, infrared cameras and space, in particular for taking the oldest objects in the Universe, and it will require more guidance on the black portions of the Cosmos. Besides Vantablack interested and military, but in Surrey NanoSystems can not comment on the area of application in this field, VIDEO:
