Many scientists dubbed graphene- is a real messiah from the world of science. This material due to its amazing physical, chemical and electrical properties really has great technological potential. However, today scientists believe created a material which is even better than graphite. A group of researchers from the Universities of Oxford, Stanford and Berkeley has developed a material that has all the assumptions of the amazing properties of graphene, but instead uses a two-dimensional three-dimensional structure. Given that the two-dimensional nature of graphene imposes some restrictions on its mass production and use in the prior art devices, the creation of three-dimensional material with the same properties, is a great achievement, although at first glance it may seem not so. Recall that graphene - a material that is created from sheets of carbon just one atom thick, superimposed on each other and having a hexagonal structure. However, partitioning sheets causes carbon atoms to become unstable at the edges of these sheets. Ultimately, this may reduce the quality of graphene and deprive all those properties for which he is appreciated. In turn, the new material, called "three-dimensional topological Dirac semimetal", based on cadmium arsenide looks like a three-dimensional crystal, however, the electrons in it behave as if it had no mass, that is the same as in graphene. This feature can be very useful in the electronics of the future when creating superconductors, supercapacitors and hard drives with much higher density of the recorded information. British scientific establishment Diamond Light Source, as well as laboratory Advanced Light Source at Berkeley has conducted tests of several samples of cadmium arsenide. Scientists note that production and work with the new material is much easier than with the graphene and in the end the latter can be excluded from the application of science and christened as the first failed prototype of the final material, VIDEO :
