NASA has concluded an agreement with the network operator of telescopes Slooh, through which anyone can now make their own observations of asteroids in the vicinity of the Earth. This will be possible thanks to the opening of access to the service of Slooh, giving online broadcast videos of telescopes. This agreement is an integral part of NASA's study of near-Earth asteroids asteroid Grand Challenge. Due to resource specialists telescopes Slooh American space agencies expect to train novice amateur astronomers study the basic principles already known asteroids, based on their size, character rotation, reflectivity and other properties. The project plans to install ten additional telescopes in the Canary Islands, where is located the Institute of Astrophysics. With their help, the American astronomers expect to not only better understand the previously discovered asteroids, but also to open new ones. According to NASA, at now scientists discovered 10,957 asteroids and 1472 of them are classified as potentially hazardous to Earth. Thus scientists argue that at the moment they know less than a third of asteroids are more 140 meters in diameter. The larger asteroids (with a diameter of more than a kilometer), according to them, is open about 90 % of all, VIDEO:
