According to ScienceNow, on the anthropological conference scientists from Cambridge University have announced about the discovery of frost resistance genes in people of the North and Siberia, associated with survival in the cold. It is reported, that researchers from the University of Cambridge have taken DNA samples from hundreds of representatives of 10 indigenous ethnic groups of northern Siberia, the analysis found three genes, that are selectively represented in the indigenous peoples of the North and Siberia-UCP1, ENPP7 and PRKG1. According to researchers at Cambridge University, the protein encoded by the gene UCP1 (termogenin) causes mitochondria to produce heat, and do not use chemical energy for the synthesis of ATP. ENPP7 gene helps indigenous peoples of the North and Siberia cope with fatty animal food, PRKG1 gene is associated with the mechanism of contraction of the smooth muscles, improves thermoregulation, THE VIDEO:
