In the Science magazine was published an article of a group of scientists from the National Renewable energy Laboratory in Golden, United States, under the leadership of Shi-You Ding, that, with the help of fungus Trichoderma reesei can get faster and cheaper a biofuels, than using a bacteria. As reported scientists from of the National Renewable energy Laboratory in Golden, fungus can to degrade a cellulose, the main component of wood, without the aid of bacteria, because fungi are able to produce enzymes, that separate the cellulose macromolecules into smaller molecules, needed to produce a biofuels. In the experiment, the researchers compared the ability to process of cellulose an example of two representatives of the fungi and bacteria - bacteria Clostridium thermocellum and the fungus Trichoderma reesei, the experiment revealed, that the fungus Trichoderma reesei is 5 times faster, than bacteria, decompose a cellulose molecules into smaller fragments. According to Shi-You Ding, with enzymes of the fungus Trichoderma reesei is theoretically possible to achieve almost 100% of the decomposition of biomass into biofuels, if it does not contain lignin, THE VIDEO:
