In the Current Biology magazine appeared an article of a group of scientists from Yale University, USA and the University of Bristol, UK, under the leadership of Nicholas Longrich and Jacob Vinther, that the wings of Archaeopteryx and dinosaurs were built much simpler, than wings of modern birds, which was a big surprise for paleontologists. According to Nicholas Longrich, based on the study of the device of the wings of one of the oldest protobird - Archaeopteryx (Archaeopteryx lithographica) and the feathered dinosaur anhiornisa (Anchiornis huxleyi) found that the very first wings of birds and feathered dinosaurs were more primitive and were a transition forms, that bound these birds and dinosaurs. As the starting material, scientists from Yale University have used a two key fossils - "Berlin Archaeopteryx," which was found in Germany in 1880 and remains of anhiornis BMNHC PH828, found in China in 2009. According to the American paleontologists, the wings of Archaeopteryx and anhiornis were not suitable for flight, it were more like a modern penguin wings, than on the wings of modern birds, THE VIDEO:
