Joint Laboratory of Arctic Expedition Studies of Pacific Oceanological Institute of Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Research Centre Alaska-Fairbanks and the University of Georgia in the U.S. is on board of the research vessel "Victor Buinitskii" and is already the seventh expedition. Previous expeditions have found, that methane appears in the destruction of underwater areas of permafrost in the Arctic due to climate change.
