In a nuclear power plant (Volgodonsk NPP) in Volgodonsk, Rostov region, Russia on the night of September 7, 2012 there was a major fire. As reported by the Southern Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia light a fire at the plant entered today at 01.10 MSK, but the fire was completely eradicated in 12.4 MSK. The maximum area of fire at the plant was of 350 square meters, the details are not disclosed. Put out a fire at the plant with a crane, which has twice raised and dropped water on the heat source, just putting fire, 42 people participated in 13 fire engines. Cause of the fire has not been determined. Rostov (Volgodonsk NPP) - it is a branch of "Rosenergoatom". Volgodonsk nuclear power plant is located on the Tsimlyansk reservoir, 13 kilometers of the city of Volgodonsk. At this plant already operating two power reactors VVER-1000 with capacity of 1000 MW each. Unit number 1 was commissioned in 2001 and the unit number 2 was commissioned in December 2010.
