Homeland Hungarians - Perm Territory

Scientists from Hungary looking for in the Perm region legendary homeland of their ancestors. Together with Perm archaeologists they learn about the cultures of ancient Ugric peoples.

In August, a group of students and staff of the Hungarian Catholic University. Peter Pazmani and Szeged University, led by Dr. Attila Turk took part in the research Bayanovskogo medieval burial site in the Perm region, Perm conducted Humanitarian Pedagogical University. The burial ground is not the first year is under the close attention of research scientists and archaeologists from the Kama archaeological and ethnographic expedition PGGPU.

Burial site attracts the attention of the Permian and Hungarian archaeologists Ugric expressive materials, funerary having a direct analogy with the Hungarian graves IX-X centuries. Also of interest is the presence of objects of Hungarian origin. Materials repository show the relationship of the early medieval population Prikamye to ethnogenesis Magyars (Hungarians self-). Scientists do not exclude a direct interaction of the medieval population of the Urals with Hungary Arpad dynasty period (IX-XIV century).

According to the participants of excavation, people who have left mounds type Bayanovskogo are direct relatives of the early medieval Hungarians. Common ancestors of this population and Hungarians left Urals in the IX century, however, and through many decades remained interaction and ethnic proximity descendants of these people.

Thus, the Perm Urals, may be part of the legendary Magna Hungaria - hypothetical ancestral home of the Hungarians, the country in which the descendants of the Magyars, who have not gone to the Danube, lived up to the XII-XIII centuries.
