Buoyant Rover by NASA tested for the study of Jupiter's moon Europa's ocean - VIDEO PDF Print E-mail

Experts from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory reported video test a prototype device, which may go explore the ocean under the ice of Jupiter's Moon - Europe. Rover was named Buoyant Rover. The device was tested on one of the lakes near the town of Barrow, Alaska. According to the researchers, the tests were successful, the rover has proved its effectiveness. The device under water essentially moved upside down, pushing the wheels on the bottom surface of the ice. Buoyant Rover is equipped with cameras that can rotate up and down. The device will have a subsurface ocean to explore Europe on the subject of availability of methane and hydrothermal vents, which are considered in NASA, do not allow the ocean to freeze.
