American scientists have tried to determine the composition of bacteria that people throw into the air during breathing. It turned out that the atmosphere around each of the individual in terms of bacteriology has a unique character. A new measurement of the human microbiome reported in the journal PeerJ. Scientists from the University of Oregon have taken a sample of the DNA of microbes from the air around 11 volunteers placed in special sterile chamber. It turned out that the identity of the majority of people can be identified by the footsteps of their microorganisms four hours after being in the room. The researchers conducted an analysis of suspended particles in the air, as well as the method of sequencing 16S (he reveals not only certain types of pathogens as whole microbial community ribosomal RNA c constant sedimintatsii 16S). Total researchers treated 312 air samples. Major groups of bacteria in different individuals were few: the streptococci from the oral cavity, as well as Propionibacterium and Corynebacterium skin surface. However, the unique combination of these germs and help to easily identify people. "Our results confirm that the empty space in terms of microbiology differ from the occupied people, and for the first time demonstrate that individuals create their own, unique microbial cloud", - concluded the authors. The new study not only sheds light on the spread of infectious diseases in smokers, but also can be of practical use in forensic science. Analysis of the "air" microbiome is theoretically able to determine where he had been a suspect - but it is unclear how to distinguish one individual from another microbial cloud in crowded places.
