In Germany, the first solar power plants produced the same amount of electricity, and nuclear power plants. In July, they both worked out at 5.18 terawatt-hours. This figure is due to the steady Sunshine, as well as a decrease in the production of electricity by nuclear power plants, one of them was permanently disabled in accordance with the plan of reducing the number of nuclear power plants, and another three reactors were stopped for routine inspection. Institute for solar energy systems Fraunhofer Society (ISE) also told about another record: in July, solar and wind power developed 11.7 terawatt hours. The previous maximum rate - 11.1 terawatt-hours - was recorded in March 2015. In 2014, renewable sources had 26.2 percent of all electricity generated in Germany. The share of nuclear power plants decreased to 15.8 per cent. In 2011, Germany passed a law providing for the complete abandonment of nuclear power by 2022. To date, the country remains eight existing nuclear power plants.
