To create a material that has become a key element in this technological solution, a copper mesh treated with a solution of alkali, because of which formed on its surface tiny "pockets". After treatment, the web has gained a strong water-repellent properties.

In his article published in the edition of Advanced Functional materials, the researchers note that their antigravity device can pump water only one centimeter in height, then gravity still takes precedence over the surface tension of water. Still, developers are confident that their technology will find its use in microfluidic devices mikrodetektorah and other high-tech intelligence systems.
