According to scientists, the ability to easily access the Internet and quickly find there any information on the assessment of the affected people of their abilities. Many believe that they are smarter than they really are.

Researchers from Yale University found that the generation that grew up in the modern era of easy access to the Internet, has inflated self-esteem in relation to intelligence. The ability to quickly search through a search engine answer to almost every question is misleading about their own education and intelligence. Such a study conducted organization American Psychological Association.

Scientists were surprised, having received the results of the experiment. It was found that subjects who were looking for on the Internet the information you need, is under the illusion that the data of the Internet as part of their own knowledge.

"The Internet - is such a powerful medium that gives access to the world's knowledge. And it becomes very easy to confuse their own knowledge and information from the external environment. When people get used to it, it becomes difficult to objectively assess their own mental abilities, they become very dependent on the Internet, "- said the researcher, graduate student of the Faculty of Psychology at Yale University, Matthew Fisher.

The study involved 302 people. They were divided into two groups. They were asked the same questions, and then the first group allows you to find the answer on the Internet, and the second gave out the text with a ready answer. After that assessed their own opinion regarding the amount of knowledge on the subject under discussion.

Those subjects who found the answer in the network, were confident that they know on the subject much more than it actually was. It is curious that even if they did not find answers to these questions, but simply fingered websites on the subject, they have created the illusion that they know more about this topic.

"With the internet boundaries between what you know and what you think, you know, erased," - said Matthew Fisher. According to him, in some situations, such inadequate self-esteem can be dangerous.
