Robot-ninja created by scientists - VIDEO PDF Print E-mail

robots of the future is not only endowed with reason, but also teach the secrets of skill ninja. US researchers studying the movement of cats and athletes jump, hoping to apply this technique to the clunky machines.

The aim is to reduce the impact on the robots in the fall, especially those who are planning to use for search and rescue operations in extreme conditions. Engineers Technological University of Georgia pretended drop cats, divers and astronauts.

It's not the fall that can cause death. This sudden stop. One of the most important factors determining the severity of injuries in the fall, is the angle of landing, - quotes the researchers newspaper Daily Mail.

The simulation showed that a well thought out robot is able to perform a soft landing. However, existing propulsion technologies do not allow the iron to move and jump like a cat. In the future, the researchers plan to teach the robot successfully to fall, it is hard for a man, but of course for the animal.

Very important is the fact that the human brain is not capable of processing information quickly enough to determine the optimal sequence of body positions in the fall necessary for safe landing. Theoretically, the initial position and initial velocity of the body do not matter, because we can precisely control the angle of the landing, changing the position of the body directly into the air. In practice, however, we are faced with a multitude of restrictions that prevent us to perform fast maneuvers - say researchers.

Everything goes to the fact that the robots of the future will be almost invulnerable. For example, scientists at Harvard University have developed a machine that is not afraid of fire, cold, and even survives under the wheels of the car.
