At the same time in the last 800,000 years the CO2 level in the atmosphere do not exceed the 300 ppm, and before the start of the industrial revolution level of carbon dioxide has hovered around 280 ppm. Former NASA scientist James Hansen believes, that the figure of 350 ppm is the "magic number" and the excess of this value will mean long-term climate change.
