Changes in Earth's gravitational field have led to the melting of glaciers in Greenland-VIDEO PDF Print E-mail

In the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences magazine was published an article of a group of scientists from Princeton University, USA, that on the basis of satellite data of the gravitational field of the Earth was drawn up a model, which explains the uneven melting of glaciers in Greenland over the past ten years. In the model of scientists from Princeton University used a data from 2002 to 2011, which were received from the satellites, working according to the GRACE (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment). According to American scientists, the effect of irregular movement of the main places of melting of Greenland ice, from year to year is correlated with changes in Earth's gravity field, as calculated by the model size of the main areas of melting ice- coincided with the actual data of the fixed space. Huge glaciers cover about 80% of the territory of Greenland, if the entire Greenland ice will melt- it would raise a global sea levels by 6.4 meters, THE VIDEO:
