New stars cease to appear in the Universe- VIDEO PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 11 November 2012 14:45

David Sobral, the astrophysicist from the University of Leiden reported on the website of telescope "Subaru", that the star formation in the Universe has been steadily declining over the last 11 billion years, and at present time the number of new stars in 30 times less, than were a 11 billion years ago, so in the future we should expect only 5% of all the stars of the Universe. Study of David Sobral at Leiden University was published in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, in conjunction with David Sobral worked an international team of astronomers, which used three telescopes to test his theory: the United Kingdom Infrared Telescope (UK Infrared Telescope), the telescope “Subaru” (Subaru Telescope) and Chilean telescope “Very Large Telescope” (Very Large Telescope). It was found, that half of all the stars of the UUniverse were existed more then 9 billion years ago, and only the other half came later, which gives reason to support the hypothesis of David Sobrel and claim a significant reduction in the rate of formation of new stars. Estimate the size of stars in the Universe may be in this VIDEO:
