Planetary nebula Fleming-1 in the constellation of Centaurus hides a two white dwarfs- VIDEO PDF Print E-mail

In the Science magazine was published an article of a group of scientists from the European Southern Observatory in Santiago, Chile, under the direction of Henri Boffin, that planetary nebulae appeared as result of the interaction of two white dwarfs, which rotate around of a common center of mass in a very close orbit . According to Henri Boffin, as an example, was considered like a "cocoon" Nebula Fleming-1 in the constellation of Centaurus with VLT telescope in Chile and was found, that such planetary nebulae (glowing clouds of hot gas) may be made of two white dwarfs (small stars), one of which has half of the mass of the Sun and the other star has a mass approximately equal to the mass of the Sun. Both of these white dwarfs rotate around a common center of mass in a very short distance from each other, and the gravitational interaction of these stars leads to the fact, that the hot gas is twisted into a spherical structure similar to the nebula Fleming 1, THE VIDEO:
